The concept of this blog has been in existence for a good year or so. But in the game of life things seem to get reshuffled to make room for work, relationships and school. In that mix my written outlet for all things media and life seemed to be put on hold. But I can say that I finally have the breathing room to hopefully make some occasional updates to this blog.
So who am I? My name is Ryan Ruud. I’m a 10 year veteran of the broadcast world both on air and off. I am also an award-winning, multimedia journalist with background in print, radio, tv and online.
I’m a Master’s student at St. Cloud State University, the Midwest’s premier mass communications school.
I’m also a media entrepeneur and have built a marketing communications firm that withstood the “R” word – recession.
In addition to all that I’m spirit. I work hard, I play hard and I’m always thinking. I’m inspired by the world around me. You’ll notice this if you follow any of my social media profiles.
Because I’ve held a variety of roles in broadcasting my tastes can range greatly. One Facebook status may be the lyrics of the latest Ke$ha song that seem to speak to me at the moment, another might be disgust at the fact that BP still has not fixed the oil leak in the gulf.
I’m not your boring young professional, I love life and live it to the fullest.
What will you find on this blog? A lot! From time to time I’ll write professionally about where I see the media landscape moving, I’ll include research papers and academic writing as well as musings and thoughts on things that inspire and impact my life daily.
I called my business LifeSpeaks Media because it’s my belief that life is always talking to us, from a marketing communications perspective it’s important that your business/organizations message cuts through and get’s heard.
Life inspires greatness, make sure you’re looking at it without rose colored glasses, pink framed sunglasses are okay though.
So for now I shall close but hope you’ll come back and check out what’s going on in my piece of the world and what’s on my mind.
Cheers,
r
