I’m a huge fan of Buffer. We’re talking Buddy the Elf level of love. So when they hosted a Content Curation twitter chat, I couldn’t resist joining in. Among the topics discussed were tools, platforms and engagement strategies. Content curation should be part of all modern marketing strategies. The tweet chatters shared some great insights and I’ve pulled together some of my favorites to share them here with you.
How to make your content curation stand out
A6) Stand out from others sharing curated content by creating your own content. Add a twist, offer a new perspective. But test. #bufferchat

I love the Digital Chic’s opinion here. It’s good to stir the pot and ruffle some feathers. The point is to have an opinion. No one wants to do business with a brick wall, unless your concrete I suppose?
A6: Providing commentary from your brand's perspective, the more controversial the better, go against the grain! #bufferchat

Anik nails it. If your audience doesn’t come first in everything you’re doing, why bother?

A6 Make sure you read the articles and determine if they are beneficial before sharing. #bufferchat

Similar to what DigitalChic says, if you’re not feeling controversial, at least have a point of view.
Q6. Give your opinion and your stance on the topic #bufferchat

Tealix has a set of tools outlined here that makes curation something you can do whenever you have a few minutes. Adding things to lists, bookmarks or folders is a snap. When combined with some automation it makes magic.
I either bookmark them, throw them in a post draft on Buffer, drop them in a Google doc or in Evernote @buffer #bufferchat

Thanks for the write up Ryan. I missed this chat and something that we talk about a lot. Just want to quickly mention http://quuu.co/ which we’ve seen a number of our http://goodbits.io customers use to get quality content suggestions.
We always remind people to read the content and fully understand if it’s relevant to their audience and add their brand’s commentary.

Thanks for the comment Kalv and glad you enjoyed the write up. I’m a big fant of Quuu too! Thanks for adding it. I’m actually just discovering GoodBits for the first time now and liking what I’m seeing. Good application for some clients.
